This Privacy Policy describes how MedEQ collects, uses, and shares information when you visit the site, create an account, or use a MedEQ learning experience.

Information we collect

Account and professional information

Email address, name, profession, credential, specialty, organization, professional identifier when supplied, accreditation preferences, eligibility status, and account authentication details.

Learning and interaction information

Modules opened or completed, scenario choices, responses, assessments, reflections, completion records, and other activity needed to operate and improve the learning experience.

Voice and text input

If you choose voice input, your browser or a speech service may process audio to produce a transcript. Text and transcripts submitted in a scenario may be processed as part of the session. Microphone access is optional and controlled through your browser.

Technical information

Device and browser details, approximate network information, diagnostic events, and local preferences such as theme and learning mode. Authentication providers may store a session token in your browser to keep you signed in.

How we use information

• provide, secure, troubleshoot, and personalize MedEQ;
• authenticate accounts and maintain learner profiles;
• save learning progress and generate completion records;
• evaluate professional or credit eligibility where applicable;
• improve scenario quality, usability, safety, and performance;
• communicate about account access, pilots, policy changes, or platform updates; and
• comply with legal, security, and future accreditation-reporting obligations.

How information is shared

MedEQ does not sell personal information. Information may be shared with service providers that support hosting, authentication, databases, communications, speech or audio features, security, and platform operations, subject to appropriate contractual restrictions.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect rights and safety, in connection with an organizational change, or with your direction or consent. If accredited activities become available, required completion data may be shared with an accredited provider, credit-reporting system, or your participating organization as disclosed for that activity.

Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the platform, maintain learning and compliance records, support security and troubleshooting, and satisfy legal or accreditation obligations. Retention periods may vary by data type and will be refined before accredited or paid release.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information. No internet service is completely secure, and MedEQ cannot guarantee absolute security. Use a unique password and notify the team through your access contact if you suspect unauthorized account activity.

Your choices

• Review and update available profile fields from your account.
• Control microphone access through browser or device settings.
• Choose whether to use voice input; typed input remains available.
• Sign out to clear the active authentication session on a shared device.
• Request access, correction, or deletion through your staging or pilot contact, subject to applicable recordkeeping obligations.

Children’s privacy

MedEQ is designed for healthcare professionals and adult learners. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes and contact

We may revise this policy as MedEQ and its data practices evolve. Material updates will be identified by a new “Last updated” date and, when appropriate, an in-product or account notice. Privacy questions or requests can be directed to the MedEQ team through the same contact channel used for your staging, pilot, or account access.
